In relation to our specific context relating to the impoverishment of elderly people, we are proposing a project within the framework of empowerment which will consist in initiating and training 150 elderly women in the craft of making shopping baskets in order to give them a capacity financial help to help cover household expenses but also create an occupation for this age group that can provide some solution to psychosomatic problems during this post-conflict period in eastern DRCongo.
1. The weakness of the Congolese government in the care of the elderly places them in a situation of promiscuity and precariousness see vulnerability 2. The poverty of Congolese households following the lack of a source of income also justifies the poor living conditions of the elderly. Therefore they face these problems : - Problem of access to health care, food, - Food insecurity of the elderly - Lack of means of survival which pushes them to beg along the street,
- will allow elderly women to be able to make shopping baskets and sell them on the market for their empowerment - will give to vulnerable elderly women income-generating activities since they no longer have access to their rural activities - will create an occupation for elderly women; that can provide some solution to psychosomatic problems during this post-conflict period in eastern DRC.
with this project,throughout their lives ,150 trained older women will now depend on themselves and ensure the survival of their families during this period of conflict in the east of the DRC
