Our project leader co-founded an NGO, Bright Jamii Initiative (BJI) as an organization focusing on comprehensive child protection. The Virtues ProjectTM is utilized at the core of its interventions with families, teachers, and children. BJI has been focusing on expanding The Virtues ProjectTM into nearby schools to allow for effective management and follow up of their training and evaluation model. This approach is intended to enable government officials to engage and to monitor the program, see the impact, and then scale up the program with government financial support.
Recently, BJI had an opportunity to introduce The Virtues ProjectTM to two more schools in Dar es Salaam, incorporating it with support services for children on the provision of psycho-social support due to different challenges they face as the result of different forms of violence they experience. BJI team met with teachers to introduce the program and it was followed by a meeting with the students to introduce the program and get their opinion on how we should move forward to promote child participation. From these two schools BJI will be able to reach about 400 students and about 30 more teachers through on-going trainings.
We thank you for your enthusiastic support and charitable contributions!
