Exciting News!!

Your contributions have enabled us to lease the space we need to implement our program of Social Emotional Learning and Character Development (SELCD) using The Virtues Project model through activities, including:  presentations, discussions, arts, games, sports and community service projects in neighborhoods.

We have adopted a business model for sustainability of our work and to impact affordability. Parents that can afford will pay for our services and cover our administrative costs and the remaining funds will support children from vulnerable areas, or families that can’t afford to contribute to our services.

We moved our office to an area where parents who can afford pay for our services live, and with enough space for the comprehensive children’s program we envision, including:  afterschool and holiday programs, educator and parent programs.  Relocating to a venue that will support our work will actually save us money spent renting venues.

By opeing our Center for Child Welfare we now provide:

  1. A neighborhood safe space for over 30 children to learn about EQ and practice the virtues
  2. Games that help children strengthen the virtues of cooperation, unity and friendliness
  3. Group  work, drama, presentations and games where children learn about self-awareness and strengthen their virtues of confidence in speaking and helpfulness by learning through drama to notice when others need help and offer help.
  4. Activities that promote service and helpfulness.
  5.  One meal a day to low-income children.

Next steps:

Now that we have the space it is time to start renovating and opening up classrooms to be able to accomodate more children, continue our food program and expand to a second meal a day, facilitate community outreach to enroll more children, and beging facilitating workshops for parents and caregivers.

Thank you for your continued support and commitment. to ensure we continue to create safe and caring centers of learning,  strengthening virtues to uplift the lives of those in the community!.
