Community Health Workers (CHWs) are frontline healthcare providers. They support families by promoting early childhood development and responsive caregiving, ensuring children’s holistic growth. VPIA facilitators in Tanzania are working to integrate The Five Strategies of the Virtues Project into these health care providers’ training. Their focus on “Speaking the Language of Virtues,” “Noticing and Using Teachable Moments,” and “Setting Clear Boundaries” aligns with Tanzania's Childcare Campaign, which encourages responsive caregiving, early learning, safety, and security.

By employing these foundational strategies, CHWs will be introducing Virtues-led practices to caregivers during routine home visits. The goal is to empower caregivers to embody virtues and recognize teachable moments, emphasizing virtues like compassion and patience as foundations for improved caregiving and early childhood development outcomes.

With your support, we can extend this model, enhancing CHWs’ abilities to empower caregivers to adopt nurturing care. These contributions will directly support a healthier, safer future for Tanzanian children, setting a strong precedent for lifelong resilience and learning.
