By Mabwe Lucien | Project Leader
We are now at the end of the wooden boat repair. The repair consisted of the replacement of rotten wood in contact with the lake water by new and solid planks.
We admit that this operation took time because of lack of funds. A helping hand has just been given to us by the Cooperative Association of the Shipowners of Lake Tanganyika (ASCOOAT) which has just granted us 75 boards.
To this end, the principal repairer says "Tunashukuru sana ASCOOAT kwa mchango huyu mkubwa imetoa" This sentence in Kiswahili means in English "we thank ASCOOAT for their great contribution".
However, the objective of this beautiful project is to make the boat more efficient (75 horse power). It would be enormously pleasant that the purchase of this appropriate engine coincides with the end of repair work. What recipes for our school!
Let us hope for more donations so that our boat can be profitable and can support financially our pioneering nonkilling school.
Thank you for your suggestions and God bless you.
