The repair of our thirty-ton wooden boat is almost complete. The rotten boards in contact with the water were removed and replaced by new ones. There is only one-off work and painting (on order in Tanzania).
The stage at which we arrived is also due to the ASCOOAT (Cooperative Association of the Ship-owners of Lake Tanganyika) which provided us with a total of 80 boards. We thank them very much.
Our new boat combined with the new, more powerful (75 horsepower) and fast engine that we want to buy will make our boat safe and more efficient. The financial situation of our school will be good.
The captain of our boat sighs: "Tunachunga kwa furaha machine mpya na boti mpya". This Kiswahili sentence means in English that we’re waiting with joy a new engine and a new boat.
We warmly thank our donors for their generosity and support for the project of peace for the advent of a nonkilling society.
Thank you a lot.
Merry Christmas!
Happy New Year to All!
