The second wave of Covid-19 hit our country last November. Following the intensity of the pandemic, the Government has taken appropriate measures to stop its progression, in particular the ban on demonstrations, the curfew from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., the closure of schools and universities, from month of December 2020, until today; cults are authorized under strict observation of barrier measures, the suspension of traffic with neighboring countries (For us, this is Tanzania and Burundi).
In fact, the health situation is worrying: 25,089 cases have been identified, including 16,135 cured and 700 deaths. Our province of South Kivu is the most affected with 588 cases.
For Glenn Paige Nonkilling School, all school activities are suspended including the traffic of our boat on Lake Tanganyika which should transport people and goods to Tanzania or Burundi.
Our project remains the purchase of a new 75 horsepower engine to be able to navigate our 30 tonne boat and thus make our School profitable.
We ask our generous donors to continue to support us despite this deplorable situation of Covid -19 so that we can equip our boat with this needy equipment and make our School for children victims of war prosperous and profitable.
Thank you ans Blessings.
