"Sundarbans Reserved Forest", declared as Ramsar and World Heritage site is one of the most important mangrove forests in the world. This wetland is remarkable for protection from the tidal surge generated from the cyclonic depression in the Bay of Bengal. The world's largest single contiguous mangrove swamp is now in declining stage due to several reason.

BEDS is a pioneer non-government organization who had been working since 2013 to restore this diverse wetland. Community based mangrove restoration is the main focal point of BEDS. As of now, BEDS has restored over 275,000 mangroves in the Sundarbans region together with local people.

As a part of conservation activities BEDS always try to celebrate special day regarding mangrove restoration. The world Wetlands Day celebration is one of them.

On 2nd February, BEDS celebrated The world Wetlands Day 2022 together with the local people of Paschim Dhangmari adjacent to Sundarbans at Dacope sub district of Khulna region. Aim of the celebration was to create awareness among the local people and children about mangrove wetlands biodiversity and importance of its restoration.

On that event BEDS had completed several activities like explore the mangrove biodiversity, mangrove plantation, wetlands biodiversity observation by children and picture drawing. All the activities created a basic knowledge in future generation to step them forward to mangrove wetlands protection.

BEDS had planted 1000 mangrove saplings on that event with the association of local people at the adjacent area of Sundarbans. Also, local people and their children got the message of importance of wetlands, their exclusive biodiversity and the need of protecting mangrove wetlands.

We would like to thank all our donors for their contribution and faith for us. We are also requesting our donors to start monthly recurring donations. For recurring donation please find the link below;
