Healthy Meals for Children

By Aazer Durrani | Head of Marketing

Poverty is one of the biggest issues in Pakistan where people are suffering from countless difficulties.

In fact, the poor people of our country are never asked about their wellbeing and miserable conditions.

They are deprived of their fundamental necessities of the life. People who are rich should help these underprivileged people to at least get better education and increase the prospects of a brighter future.

Pakistan’s growth continues to accelerate but macroeconomic imbalances are widening. Macroeconomic stability is a major concern for the near-term economic outlook. Pakistan’s GDP growth increased by 0.8 percentage points over the previous year to reach 5.3 percent in FY17. Major impetus came from improved performance of services and agriculture sector. Industrial sector also saw some recovery. Low interest rate environment contributed to the growth in private sector credit, which supported businesses. On the demand side, consumption made up almost 92 percent of GDP, and contributed nearly eight percentage points towards GDP growth at market prices. Average headline inflation for Jul-Feb FY18 remained 3.8 percent compared to 3.9 percent in Jul-Feb FY17, well below the target of 6 percent for FY18..

The projected poverty rate continued to decline. Poverty at the $1.90 international poverty line is estimated at 4.9 percent in FY18, down from 6.1 in FY13 when latest actual figures are available. Over the same period, a 12 percent reduction in poverty is also projected for the $3.2 poverty line, while a lower improvement (4 percent) is projected at the $5.5 poverty line.

Based on the above facts, our underprivileged children require basic food requirements in order to remain healthy. We at NUR Community Outreach Program which was launched in 1995 have had more than 20 batches graduating and currently more than 2,100 children are studying in these schools.

Coming from impoverished backgrounds, a proper meal on the table is sometimes just not possible. Along with basic education, these children also require proper food to remain healthy.

Most of these children never even thought of having such meals in their lives but with your generous support, we made it possible and we want to continue serving the underprivileged. These children need our support and they are the future of this country. Providing them with basic food and education should be our primary goal and that is what our organization has been doing with your support.

We request your support and ask you to donate generously so that these children can remain healthy and become a helping hand for others.
