Meals for 1850 Young Students in Pakistan

Food is the basic necessity of our life through which we get nutrients and basic body needs for the healthy life. There are people living in this world from different economic strata and have various lifestyles to spend their life. There is also another class which is living below the poverty line and is so poor that they can’t even get food for sustenance and spend their life by eating wasted food or by picking it from the garbage. The irony is that everyday, loads of food is wasted and people do not realize the fact that the leftovers can help so many deserving families. 

The percentage of people living below poverty line has declined from 50.4% in 2005-06 to 24.3% in 2015-16, according to Pakistan Economic Survey 2017-18. There are millions of people living in Pakistan who are living below the poverty line and living a very miserable life. This ratio in cities is low as compared to rural areas where the life is very tough as the education rate is very low. People earn mere amount of money in order to run their household needs. It is impossible for them to send their children to school as well as to give them food for three times. This is an alarming situation in Pakistan which is an Islamic country and we as a nation are ignoring this class. There is on saying of Prophet on hunger that ''If a dog dies hungry on the banks of the River Euphrates, Umar will be responsible for dereliction of duty.'' (Umar Ibn al Khattab) We are living in a same society and Pakistan is facing very severe economic crises where it is becoming very difficult for one to fulfill the basic needs.

In this scenario Fatima Memorial Hospital and NUR Foundation has taken step in providing food to its NUR Community Outreach Schools students. NUR Foundation is giving these poor students free education as well as food for sustenance. We took a smaller step towards the betterment of society and we are doing it since 1985. These students from underprivileged areas are from very poor families and their parents can’t even give them food for three times. They are sending their children in schools for education because we have developed a hope in them that educating your children brings a splendid change in your life. We are providing meals to more than 1850 students on daily basis so that they can focus well on their studies and live a healthy life.

With your generous support, we made it possible to arrange meals for 1850 students and we want to continue serving the underprivileged. These children need our support and they are the future of this country. Providing them with basic food and education should be our primary goal and that is what our organization has been doing with your support.
