A Critical Moment: We Must Not Let These Children Go Hungry
Dear supporters,
Thanks to your generosity, our meal program has continued to nourish over 1,800 students across the NUR Foundation’s outreach schools. But today, we are facing one of the most difficult periods in this project's history.
With $53,083 still remaining toward our goal, we urgently need your support to ensure that we can continue providing daily meals — meals that hundreds of children depend on as their primary source of nutrition.
Every missed donation has a direct consequence:
A child goes to school hungry. A child struggles to learn. A child’s future becomes uncertain.
This is a moment when your support truly determines whether we can sustain this lifeline.
Why Immediate Funding Is Essential
1. Sharp Rise in Food Prices
Since early 2025, prices for essential staples — lentils, rice, vegetables, flour, and cooking oil — have risen significantly. Our weekly food expenses have nearly doubled, making it impossible to maintain daily meals without additional funds.
2. These Children Depend on School Meals
Many students arrive at school without breakfast. For some, the meal we provide is their only balanced meal of the day. Without it, they struggle to focus, learn, or even stay enrolled.
3. Weekly Meals Are Not Enough
Due to funding gaps, some schools have been forced to reduce meal frequency.
Your support can help us restore daily nutrition — not just weekly stopgaps.
4. Sustaining 1,850 meals daily requires stability
We need donor commitments to secure bulk ingredients, keep kitchen operations running, and guarantee uninterrupted delivery across 30 outreach schools.
Impact So Far: What Your Support Has Made Possible
More than 1,800 students received daily meals this quarter.
Meals included dal, chawal, rotis, seasonal vegetables, and occasionally fruit — ensuring nutrition, energy, and growth.
Teachers reported better focus, fewer behavior issues, and improved attendance.
The program has reduced dropout risks among the poorest children.
Parents expressed deep relief, knowing their children are fed and able to learn.
Voices From the Community
“My daughter had stopped coming to school last year. Now she goes every day because she knows she’ll get a proper meal.”
— Mother of a grade 2 student
“I feel less tired in class. I can do my homework after school now.”
— 13-year-old student, NUR Foundation School
The Reality: This Program Is at Risk
Without immediate donor support:
Meal frequency will have to be reduced.
Newly opened outreach schools cannot be added.
Children from the most vulnerable families will return to school on empty stomachs.
Learning outcomes — reading skills, math performance, attention spans — will fall sharply.
For these children, hunger is not just physical — it translates into lost education, lost opportunities, and lost futures.
How You Can Help — Impact by Donation
$10 provides a nourishing meal for 10 children.
$50 provides meals for 50 children.
$100 provides meals for 100 children.
$1,850 feeds all 1,850 students for one day.
Recurring donations stabilize the entire operation.
Every dollar directly feeds a child.
Every meal restores dignity and hope.
Looking Ahead: What Your Support Will Enable
Reintroducing daily meals in all outreach schools.
Adding protein items (eggs, legumes, chickpeas) weekly.
Expanding to new NCOP schools opening in 2026.
Launching nutrition awareness sessions for parents.
Creating a sustainable child-nutrition model for marginalized Pakistani communities.
A Final Appeal
We are at a point where the future of this program depends entirely on donor support.
These 1,850 children cannot learn on empty stomachs.
They cannot wait.
Your generosity has brought us this far — but now we must close the remaining funding gap to secure their meals for the coming months.
Please consider giving today, or sharing this project with someone who can help.
Together, we can ensure that no child in our schools goes hungry.
Thank you for feeding minds, hearts, and futures.
