As quoted by Joseph Addison
“Every year, 800,000 children die in Pakistan and 35 per cent of these occur due to malnutrition. The risk of death is nine times higher for a child suffering from malnutrition compared to a child with a balanced diet (Islamabad, 22 August 2013)”.
Nutrition is crucial to both individuals and national development as the facts state that good nutrition is the primary driver of a wide range of development goals. According to a report the nutrition status of children in Pakistan is extremely alarming, especially for children under five years of age. At a national level almost 40% of the children are declared to be underweight which actually is the point where we need to take a stand on the issue.
The children in the UR Foundation Schools belongs to the class who are at their bread lines so to help them in the continuation of their education the hospital ensures that these children get all the basic facilities to get educated i.e. uniform, books, stationary. However, it is pertinent that a healthy body keeps the healthy mind, though we are working towards providing them an education but it that is not enough anymore.
NUR Foundation is aimed towards providing them with a better life and to achieve this goal we initiated the program to provide these children with healthy meals but due to financial constraints we serve them lunch on a weekly basis. We are eager to sustain this program and we are hopeful to provide them school meals on daily basis. To achieve this goal we need your support so make your generous donations today so we all can continue seeing them smile.
Please donate and change their lives
