Dear Donor,
this latest report aims to update you on recent events in Lebanon. Lately, the country has been facing a terrible economic crisis that is worsening the lives of its inhabitants, 85% of whom live in conditions of poverty. Furthermore, the situation regarding refugee management is becoming increasingly difficult. In addition to the 2 million Syrian refugees and 20,000 people of other nationalities currently living in the country, the war between Israel and Palestine is exacerbating an already fragile and delicate situation. Due to fear of an extension of the ongoing conflict in Gaza, since the beginning of October more than 29,000 people living in the areas near the border with Israel have decided to abandon their homes, generating internal displacement. These people try to find support from friends or relatives who live in other areas of Lebanon; however, they often live in situations of economic difficulty and do not have money to help them.
Thanks to your support, the association “Oui pour la Vie” can continue to operate in Damour giving a hot meal to the most vulnerable families and supporting a clinic that provides healthcare to those in need. In addition, our local partner is supporting the school activities of many children regardless of their religion and origin by making its teachers available to provide them with supplementary courses in basic subjects. Given the delicate situation that Lebanon is facing, conviviality initiatives such as cooking, theatre, dance and gardening courses have been launched to allow children to experience moments of carefreeness.
In such a difficult moment for this country, your contribution can make the difference in helping the most vulnerable. Thank you for supporting our work!
