In El Salvador, Fundacion Ayudame a Vivir is the only organization that provides free medical treatment and comprehensive support to all children with cancer. Part of this treatment includes specialized medical consultations, which are essential for diagnosis, treatment monitoring, and post-treatment care. This project ensures timely, uninterrupted access to lifesaving evaluations-improving survival rates, reducing complications, and supporting vulnerable families.
In El Salvador, 93% of families with a child battling cancer live in poverty. Nearly none can afford even a single consultation or the full treatment. Families also face long travel distances and limited access to specialists. As the only organization providing free, comprehensive care, Fundacion Ayudame a Vivir must retain its pediatric oncology team to ensure children continue receiving timely, high-quality treatment.
This project will fund free, specialized pediatric oncology consultations for children with cancer in El Salvador. By removing financial barriers, it helps reduce treatment interruptions, improves survival rates, and offers families the stability and hope they need. Strengthening clinical follow-up also prevents complications and supports long-term recovery and qualityoflife.
The project will fund over 110 pediatric oncology consultations in El Salvador. These specialized medical visits are essential for children with cancer to receive timely diagnosis, monitor treatment, and prevent complications. The project will directly benefit over 100 children and indirectly support more than 500 family members. Long-term, it strengthens survival rates, reduces health inequities, and helps families overcome financial and emotional barrierstocare.
