Medications for Paediatric Oncological Units
By Selina Kwame | Project Director
With the support of our generous donors, Adjah Cancer Support Ghana has made significant strides in the Medications for Paediatric Oncological Units project. During this reporting period, we provided essential medications to children undergoing cancer treatment, ensuring that paediatric patients have access to life-saving drugs needed for their care.
Our efforts have directly supported hospital units by reducing medication shortages and easing the financial burden on families, allowing children to receive timely treatment without interruptions. By addressing this critical need, the project contributes to better health outcomes and improved quality of life for young cancer patients.
We are deeply thankful to our supporters for helping us safeguard the health and well-being of children fighting cancer in Ghana.
Because no child should face cancer without access to the medicines they need.

Medications for Paediatric Oncological Units
By Christopher Adjah | Project Leader
Children fighting cancer in Ghana face a heartbreaking reality: essential medications are often too expensive or simply unavailable. Chemotherapy drugs, antibiotics, pain relief, and supportive care treatments are critical to survival, yet paediatric oncology units continue to struggle with shortages.
With donations received being very small compared to the overwhelming need, many families are left unable to complete their children’s treatment. This results in painful delays, interrupted care, and lower survival chances for young patients.
Your support can change this.
A small donation can cover a single dose of chemotherapy.
A modest gift can provide antibiotics to fight infection.
Every contribution helps keep a child’s treatment on track.
Together, we can ensure that no child with cancer in Ghana is denied medication because of cost.

Medications for Paediatric Oncological Units
By Christopher Adjah | Project Leader
We are excited to share the recent progress of our project aimed at providing essential medications to paediatric oncology units across Ghana. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we have made impactful strides in the past few months.
Key Achievements:
-
Procured and distributed vital chemotherapy drugs and supportive care medications to two major paediatric oncology units.
-
Reached 48 children undergoing treatment, helping to ease the burden on their families and improve treatment outcomes.
-
Collaborated with hospital pharmacists and oncologists to ensure accurate delivery and appropriate usage of all medications.
Impact Story:
One of our beneficiaries, a 7-year-old girl diagnosed with leukemia, was able to continue her treatment uninterrupted after receiving critical medications through this project. Her parents expressed deep gratitude, saying, "Your support gave us hope when we had none."
Next Steps:
We are working to expand the program to include more regional hospitals and to establish a small emergency medicine stock for urgent needs. With continued support, we hope to reach even more children battling cancer.
Thank you for making a difference. Together, we are giving children a fighting chance.
