Dear donors and supporters, we are pleased to share with you the progress report of our Menstrual Health and Environmental Hygiene project.
Thanks to your generous support, we have made a significant impact in the lives of 175 adolescent girls in the Oshie community, Njikwa municipality, North West Region of Cameroon, by empowering them with comprehensive SRH and menstrual hygiene knowledge, raising awareness, equipping the schools with disposable menstrual hygiene pads, and donating 75 reusable sanitary pads to 25 internally displaced adolescent girls.
The girls were trained on body autonomy, menstrual health, personal hygiene, self-esteem, the menstrual cycle and period tracking, sexual reproductive health rights and the use of reusable and disposable pads. Our team provided real-life examples and in-depth explanations with diagrams and pictures for illustration to foster understanding and create an open, welcoming environment for learning. These sessions have had a measurable impact, significantly enhancing the girls’ knowledge and perspectives, as many did not know how to track their periods. They are now equipped to manage their menstrual health with confidence and dignity, helping to dismantle the stigma surrounding menstruation and reduce period poverty.
We invite you to continue supporting our efforts to create a more equitable future for girls and women and all people with periods. Visit https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/menstrual-health-and-environmental-hygiene/to donate. We appreciate any donation; no amount is too small.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our donors, partners, and supporters.
Together we are making a lasting impact in the lives of women and girls.
