Providing quality reusable sanitary pads and kits for most vulnerable school going girls in Bidi Bidi refugee settlement will enable them manage their menstruation safely and comfortably with dignity, stay health & optimistic continuing to chase their dreams through education contruting to family and community just like any other child around the world.
Refugee girls especially the school going struggle with menstrual hygiene management and stigma. Sanitary facilities like sanitary towels, soap are lacking yet they can't afford. Most parents aren't in position to provide them either since most of them lack jobs and reliable source of income as such prioritizing other needs at the expense of girls menstrual hygiene.
Empowering schools girls to manage their menstruation with safety, privacy and dignity through providing reusable sanitary pads, soap and awareness on basic menstruation management techniques will enable girls to stay healthy & optimistic continuing to chase their dreams through education just like any other girl around the world.
This project builds entrepreneurial skills that support development at personal, family and community level. By the end of the project, teenage mothers & school dropouts will be able to provide for their personal, family and others' needs while adolescents assisted to manage their menstruation with dignity will live healthy and happy and are most likely to complete school, assist their fellows with menstrual management techniques and champion girl child education in the community.
