In February and March 2026, Girl Now Woman Later (GNWL) hosted two Menstrual Health Education & Empowerment Workshops in Burkina Faso, continuing our mission to ensure that no girl’s education is disrupted by her period.
Our March workshop aligned with International Women’s Day 2026, under the theme:
“Seated and Protected Shall I Be.”
This message reflects a simple but urgent truth: girls deserve not only access to education, but the dignity, protection, and confidence to fully participate in it.
Across many communities, menstrual stigma and lack of access to hygiene products continue to hold girls back. At GNWL, we are working to change that one workshop at a time.
Through our sessions, girls:
These workshops are more than educational they are empowering. They create safe spaces where girls feel seen, heard, and supported.
This year’s global theme, “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls,” reminds us that progress requires collective effort. At GNWL, we are committed to doing our part by equipping girls with the tools and knowledge they need to stay in school and thrive.
As Shirley Chisholm once said:
“If they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair.”
We believe every girl deserves that seat and the protection to remain in it.
If you are discovering GNWL for the first time, we invite you to become a donor and join this mission.
If you have supported us before, we encourage you to continue standing with us.
Because the need is urgent and we are not stopping.
Thank you for being part of this movement.
