Dear Donors and Well-Wishers,
Greetings!
We hope this first progress report on Menstrual Hygiene for Girls with Disabilities finds you in great spirit and health. We are deeply grateful for your kind support and belief in our work related to menstrual hygiene and reproductive health. Your commitment has played a crucial role in helping us address this important issue.
We want to inform you that girls with disabilities and adolescent girls attending school face significant challenges during menstruation. Many are forced to skip school during this time due to the unavailability of safe and hygienic toilet facilities and the inability to afford disposable sanitary napkins. Furthermore, there is often a lack of awareness and knowledge about menstrual health, as these discussions are not openly held within families. The stigma surrounding menstruation needs to be addressed and eliminated.
The project has made a positive start by launching a school awareness program on menstrual health. We have conducted three-hour training sessions at schools, which included practical demonstrations. We are happy to report that three schools have successfully registered for this project, and the training sessions have been carried out successfully. These initiatives have supported 189 girls, providing them with free sanitary napkins for the next three months. These napkins are 100% biodegradable, safe, and easy to dispose of, and the girls are incredibly grateful for this support.
We will share more stories in the next progress report. In the meantime, we kindly request that you continue supporting this project and help spread the word among your friends and family.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2025!
