Challenge

Adolescent girls' health and hygiene have been one of the key concerns over the years across the world. The awareness of menstrual hygiene and the usage of sanitary napkins is virtually absent in rural areas. Poor menstrual hygiene can cause fungal infections, cervical cancer and vulnerable infertility. Reproductive hygiene education and sexual education are not part of any education system in India. They don't have access to sanitary napkins at rural areas.

Solution

The project will have a track approach; the menstruation awareness program will be conducted at the school level to educate adolescent girls on menstruation health, at the same time they will be provided sanitary napkins for free usage. This will be based on the method of Knowledge, Attitude and Practice. The awareness will increase their knowledge, free sanitary napkins will change their attitude, and regular use of sanitary napkins will come into practice.

Long-Term Impact

The project aims to reduce school drop out among adolescent girls
