 Dear friends,

In our ongoing efforts to improve mental health service delivery and reduce stigma, we have initiated a comprehensive anti-stigma campaign. This initiative uses a variety of educational materials, such as brochures and posters, to raise awareness, dispel myths, and provide information on common mental disorders and their management. Our ultimate aim is to empower individuals, create a supportive environment, and encourage people to seek appropriate mental health care.

Completed Activities

1. Survey

The survey and data analysis have been completed. Preliminary findings indicate that 14.23% of individuals living in informal settlements are experiencing common mental disorders.

2. In-depth Interviews

To gain deeper insights into the mental health challenges in informal settlements, we conducted in-depth interviews with residents, particularly those who have faced mental health issues in the past. The qualitative data shows that while people in these settlements are aware of mental health issues, they are often reluctant to discuss them openly. Many residents are living under the constant threat of forced eviction, which is negatively impacting their mental health.

3. Preparation of Video Narratives on Mental Health

As mentioned in our previous report, we have completed a narrative video that captures the experiences of individuals living with mental health challenges. These videos will be shown in various informal settlements as part of our awareness-raising activities.

4. Photovoice

A photobook with a mental health theme has been created and will be showcased at the community level to raise awareness and foster discuss.

We sincerely thank everyone for their support in making this campaign a success. Your contributions have been essential in raising awareness and fostering a more supportive community for mental health. We look forward to continued progress together.
