After more than 25 years of offering young Venezuelans the opportunity to have a future through scholarships, the time has come to rethink our objectives and begin a new chapter hand in hand with allied foundations that, like us, have their focus on the youth of our country.

The reality of Venezuela has made us stop on this journey, as the exponential increase in college tuition has forced us to considerably reduce the number of students who benefit from our scholarships, which has significantly reduced the impact Fundación Oportunidad y Futuro has had in the past.

This is why, aware that our country is facing a painful and sad priority related to the nutritional deficiency of Venezuelan children, we have decided to migrate our efforts towards the feeding of preschool children in partnership with the Fundación Pabellón con Arepas, which provides supplies to school kitchens that provide healthy and balanced meals to their students on a daily basis in the Parroquia La Vega in Caracas.

We are confident that this change in strategy will allow us to use resources more efficiently, at the same time as we fulfill a clear need in the country and expand our radius of action, which will benefit a larger population and will improve our ability to educate healthy young people who can face their future in school with a better mindset.

This is why our Help Break the poverty cycle in Venezuela project is handing over its fundraising to the Help Feed 800 Venezuelan school age children project, registered with GlobalGiving under No. 34735. Recurring donations will be automatically redirected to the new project.

Our purpose remains intact: to fight poverty in Venezuela. And our greatest wish is to keep counting on your contribution to break the cycle of misery in the country.

Let's continue together giving the future a chance!

Below is the testimony of some of our last students graduating this year 2023, and attached is a summary of the results obtained by our students over the past 25 years.

Victoria: is a Computer Engineering student who has been a FOF scholar since November 2018 and who submitted her undergraduate thesis on June 2, 2023: "Intelligent System for Document Analysis, Query and Management through Natural Language Processing based on Amazon Web Services Technologies" obtaining the maximum grade of 20 points with an Honorific Mention.

Sonya, Estebany y Yenezka: are three students from the Instituto Universitario Jesús Obrero - IUJO who on May 2, 2023, received their degrees of Technician in Computer Science, Technician in Preschool Education and Technician in Integral Education, respectively.
