We extend our heartfelt appreciation to GlobalGiving, our esteemed partners, and all stakeholders committed to advancing the cause of women and girls in Southeast Nigeria. At Sam Onyemaechi Humanitarian Foundation (SOHF), we remain resolute in our mission to empower women and girls through transformative education, vocational training, and leadership development. This report reflects our ongoing progress, partnerships, innovations, and challenges during the quarter under review.
2. Project Overview
The “Empower 300 Women & Girls in Southeast, Nigeria” initiative continues to address the critical need for gender equality and women's economic empowerment. Our multifaceted approach focuses on enhancing the capacity of women and girls through strategic training, mentorship, and access to tools that unlock opportunities for independence and influence in their communities.
3. Strategic Partnerships
a. Partnership with the European Business University of Luxembourg (EBU)
One of our milestone collaborations is with the European Business University of Luxembourg (EBU). Through this partnership, women and girls are enrolled in the following certificate programs:
Women and Leadership Certificate Program (CP109): Equips participants with leadership, governance, communication, and conflict resolution skills, fostering their growth into changemakers in politics, business, and society.
Vocational and Skills Training Certificate Program: Focused on areas such as:
Fashion design and tailoring
Catering and food processing
Agriculture and agribusiness
Digital literacy and entrepreneurship
These programs are crucial for enabling financial independence and entrepreneurial sustainability.
b. New Partnership with Isidore CompetitivAI Avatar – July 20, 2025
We are excited to announce a new and forward-looking collaboration with Isidore CompetitivAI Avatar, a multilingual, voice-powered AI platform. This partnership is poised to:
Support interactive AI tutoring and mentoring in leadership, technology, and soft skills.
Power automated feedback systems for EBU learners and vocational trainees.
Expand digital inclusion, especially for women in underserved areas, via AI-driven training support.
Enable smart curriculum development across our programs, using analytics and real-time data.
This collaboration aligns with our mission to close digital gaps and provide next-generation educational access to marginalized women and girls.
4. Institutional Capacity – Samony Youth Academy
As part of our sustainability vision, we have launched the Samony Youth Academy, a dynamic youth-focused wing under SOHF. It is designed to:
Serve as a training hub for women and girls to gain practical skills.
Offer leadership incubators, where future female leaders are nurtured.
Integrate AI and digital tools into our educational models, making access more inclusive and impactful.
Complement our EBU and Isidore AI partnership by providing hybrid (online & physical) training experiences.
The Samony Youth Academy stands as a beacon of innovation and empowerment in Southeast Nigeria.
5. Current Challenges
Lack of Funding: No new funds have been raised for this project during the quarter, limiting our ability to scale.
Digital Exclusion: Many participants, especially in rural communities, struggle with access to internet-enabled devices.
Cultural Resistance: Traditional gender roles continue to hinder full female participation in leadership and business.
6. Future Prospects
Expansion of Isidore AI services to all vocational and educational programs.
Scaling up Samony Youth Academy to become a regional empowerment hub.
Deployment of solar-powered tech kits to overcome electricity and internet barriers.
Ongoing fundraising and advocacy, targeting both local and international donors and stakeholders.
7. Conclusion
Despite financial constraints, this project is charting new pathways for women's empowerment through innovation, partnerships, and strategic foresight. The collaboration with EBU, the introduction of Isidore CompetitivAI Avatar, and the establishment of the Samony Youth Academy signal a bright future for the women and girls we serve.
We are hopeful that with increased support, we can deepen our impact and scale up this transformative project to reach more lives.
Thank you for believing in our vision.
With gratitude,
Sam Onyemaechi Humanitarian Foundation (SOHF)
