Hope you summer is going well. Today we would like you to meet Betty, who used her love for technology and Power of Love's micro loans program to change her life. Betty received a loan of $110, after successful completion of an intensive business training course. After a few weeks of research and conversations with potential customers, she wanted to start a business that sold hardware items to a local car workshop. She located a smart phone to conduct a google search and found a supplier in South Africa, a considerable distance from her home in Lusaka, Zambia. Despite the distance, Betty was undeterred - she knew from her research that this was the supplier she needed - and she now makes the four-day journey every month to purchase the hardware at a fair price. We're happy to report that Betty's business is doing well.
We are proud of women entrepreneurs, like Betty, who are working continuously to overcome challenges due to the high level of poverty and disease in their community. Please donate generously so we can continue to provide micro loans and help hundreds of women, pay for food, medicines and school for their families. Every dollar helps strengthen the community. And, as always, 100% of your donations go towards programs and no part is used for overheads.
Thanks for your continued support for our Zambian sisters.
