Project Report | Mar 11, 2011
2009 Treatment Completion Rates

By Deliana Garcia | Director International Projects, R and D

One measure of effectiveness used to evaluate the work of TBNet is the percentage of patients that have completed the appropriate treatment regimen in a 12 month period from the date of diagnosis. In reviewing the results of all cases submitted for enrollment in TBNet for virtual patient navigation in 2009, the project received 271 cases for consideration. Fifteen cases were not submitted with sufficient contact information to allow for case management. Of the 256 cases accepted to the project, 113 were diagnosed with culture-confirmed active TB disease. Ninety-six of these cases successfully completed treatment in the designated period of time for a treatment completion rate of 84.95%.
