Support Liberian Family Health Care and Education

Dear Friends of Imani House:

We hope this update finds you well considering the current challenges. We Continue to persevere regardless! Thanks for reviewing our updates and considering  assisting with this important work.

Since our last update, there’s some exciting news we’d like to share with you. 

HEALTH:

• The IHI Clinic During COVID-19:  The clinic practices and teaches best sanitary practices to avoid contracting the virus.  It has been very successful and Liberia has one of the lowest incidents of  COVID-19.  We continue to be dedicated to our patients the majority of who are women and children.  Imani House never wants to put the burden of covering the cost of Clinic operations on our patients who are mainly the poorest of the poor.  Also, our old microscope is on its last leg. The major illnesses we treat are malaria and parasitic infections—a microscope is essential.  Please consider donating toward the Clinic.

 LITERACY:  

• New Student Scholarship Program: Mid 2019, Abigail a young Ph.D. student at the Texas State Univ. reached out to IHI and offered to provide a scholarship for a worthy Liberian Student. The Sponsor now pays all school fees and other expenses for 8-year-old Betty.  Betty lost her mother to Ebola in 2014. See Betty’s info below. This is a new chance for Betty. We'd be grateful for any assistance.
•  College Scholarship Program-  In August we received a scholarship donation in support of 4 Liberian students who attend the University of Liberia. We expect this to be an ongoing project as donors and funds become available. Perhaps you’d like to sponsor a college student scholarship? 

During the next three months, we want to replace worn out and much used medical equipment at our clinic and purchase a new electron microscope. We look forward to receiving your contributions.   Thanks again for your support.  Please be safe.
