Dear Partners,
Warm greetings from the staff and beneficiaries of Imani House Inc. Liberian Family Health Care Education Project. We continue to celebrate our 30+ year legacy of providing quality, affordable healthcare and adult literacy education in Monrovia.
We nurture the limitless possibilities of building upon the creative and resilient strength of Liberians living among marginalized communities who desire a hand up, and not a hand out. Our vision is to assist marginalized families and individuals to create vibrant neighborhoods where residents are decision makers who take responsibility for the improvement of their lives and surroundings. We feel everyone can succeed if they are motivated and have access to appropriate skills, information and opportunities. Access to education and healthcare are universal humanitarian rights. Your support helps us to stand firm in our commitment to explore creative and innovative methods to ensure everyone can get the health services and adult literacy they need and deserve.
Our clinic continue to provide general health screening and treatment through two experienced registered nurses, comprehensive laboratory testing, vaccinations for children, maternal and newborn child health services, and daily health education talks through our Imani House Inc. Community Health Manual and our Bridge Pi. Our literacy classes are located in two communities located near market venues. One of our priorities is to provide access to literacy and numeracy classes to build the skill set of remarkable market women and men who seek to provide a livelihood for their families. Over the decades, our interventions have enabled many adults to move their families from a state of subsistence to profit making providing a pathway for moving families out of generational poverty.
Thanks to you and our committed staff, during the period of January to May 2024, we provided healthcare to 1,692 persons (1,164 adults and 528 children) and adult literacy classes for 57 persons (35 females and 22 males).
