For over 30 years, Imani House Clinic has been a cornerstone of the Brewerville community and its surrounding communities. In 2025, we provided affordable, high-quality healthcare to over 6,000 individuals, with a dedicated focus on the most vulnerable: women and children.
Liberia continues to face staggering maternal and child mortality rates, compounded by a shortage of skilled personnel and infrastructure. Our clinic fills this critical gap by offering the lowest-cost private healthcare services in the district. By ensuring that essential medical care is not a luxury, we are honoring the universal human right to health with dignity. From treating manageable illnesses to promoting long-term healthy living, we are helping the government move closer to its goal of a safer, healthier Liberia.
Light is shining once again at our VOA Community Literacy Center! After a two-year hiatus caused by funding gaps, we officially reopened our doors in late 2025. Today, 40 determined market vendors—both women and men—are reclaiming their education.
Thanks to a generous grant from Plenty International and the leadership of Executive Director Mrs. Bisi Ideraabdullah, our scholars are now completing their second semester. This program is about more than just reading; it is about economic survival. One of our scholars recently shared the life-changing impact of these classes: after a decade of vulnerability, they were finally able to open their first bank account. Literacy is the ultimate life skill, providing the tools necessary to break the cycle of generational poverty.
While we celebrate the success of our clinic and the VOA classes, our mission is far from complete. Our St. Mary’s School Literacy Center remains closed due to a lack of resources. We are urgently seeking funding to:
Literacy is the bedrock of health. Without the ability to read a prescription or manage a small business's finances, true independence is impossible. We invite you to partner with us in this moral and ethical mandate.
