Greetings All,
We are so thankful to Global Giving for focusing their attention and response to the devastating Ebola outbreak in West Africa. We extend our gratitude to all who have supported us and continue to support us during this desolate time.
It is important to us that we keep supporters updated on the status of the outbreak in Liberia. Sadly, Liberia has seen over 1,000 deaths and cases are rising. There are efforts being made in controlling the epidemic through sanitation and healthcare provision, however, there is still much to be done.
We are extremely saddened to report the passing of two members of our staff whose lives have been claimed by Ebola. Ms. Theresa Kpapima and Mr. Morrison Nyei, were hard working people whom greatly aided our mission in improving the healthcare of Liberian women and children and will sorely be missed. Our hearts go out to their families and friends.
Due to this unfortunate event, we closed down the clinic for a 21-day decontamination period as a safety precaution for our staff as well as the women and children we serve in Liberia. In spite of this, we strongly believe that when the clinic reopens, we will come back stronger than ever. With your ongoing support, we will be able to combat the Ebola virus effectively.
We will continue to update you with news on the clinic and Liberia. Thank you so much for your support. This is a difficult time, but we cannot and will not lose hope.
Warmest Regards,
