As we begin a new year, we are grateful to share how your support continues to strengthen public Montessori education as a pathway to peace, equity, and community well-being across Puerto Rico.
Today, Instituto Nueva Escuela (INE) accompanies 60 public Montessori school communities in 31 municipalities, supporting more than 8,000 students through a comprehensive school transformation model grounded in academic excellence, family engagement, and environmental responsibility. Our work also extends indirectly to over 14,000 students.
Key impact highlights supported by this project
Your contributions help sustain:
Montessori professional development and coaching for educators serving in public schools, strengthening instructional quality and long-term school stability.
School-based accompaniment that supports academic growth, social-emotional development, and peaceful conflict resolution within classrooms.
Environmental initiatives integrated into the curriculum, including school gardens, composting projects, and ecological learning spaces that connect children to care for their communities and the Earth.
Through this work, students are not only developing strong academic foundations—they are learning to think critically, collaborate respectfully, and act as agents of peace within their communities.
Looking ahead
In the coming months, this project will continue to strengthen public Montessori environments, expand educator support, and deepen community-based practices that promote peace and dignity in schools across Puerto Rico.
Thank you for being part of this collective effort to build a more just and peaceful future through public education.
With gratitude,
Instituto Nueva Escuela
