We will enhance knowledge of 500 women entrepreneurs in 10 provinces of Afghanistan in the informal sector to formalize their businesses and get the benefit of formal networks and opportunities for further development of those small/home based businesses. We will deliver entrepreneurship seminars to 500 university girls in 5 provinces of Afghanistan to inspire them see entrepreneurship as an option creating jobs for themselves and others. We will improve both group's CONNECTIVITY.
There are more than 1400 formal businesses in Afghanistan owned by women. But there are thousands of women owned businesses that are informal and neither they nor organizations like AWCCI can establish contacts to provide them with further opportunities in developing their businesses. Totally untapped area to encourage these thousands of women to formalize and not only get them connected but also get them counted. The other problem is that girls number is increasing in universities but less jobs
AWCCI will provide seminars and legal expert support to informal women businesses to understand the options of formalization and the benefits and obligations. AWCCI will provide seminars to university girls to inform and inspire them about entrepreneurship and what support systems exist now a days in Afghanistan if they embark on this journey. Both these groups once enrolled in these seminars will be in a roaster of AWCCI's other programs including long-term mentorships.
1,000 women-owned informal businesses & university girls in 10 provinces will be educated on how to run formal businesses in Afghanistan who will be connected to country-wide, regional & int'l networks of women-owned businesses & many opportunities through AWCCI to succeed & grow their ventures. Formal businesses will lead to more sustainable jobs & contribute to the formal economy. Startups by University Girls will lead to employment for themselves and others and the country's economy.
