Challenge

The emergency due to covid 19 is not experienced in an equitable way, there are inequalities that take root in these moments of vulnerability. In the case of children, poverty and geographic locations limit access to distance educational content and increase the responsibility towards them and their parents to generate other ways of learning. If the indigenous language is not promoted with materials that allow children to to connect with their identity, they will run the risk of disappearing.

Solution

Empower children with 4 developed knowledge: Know how to learn: ability to discern, and acquire skills to face any difficulty. Know how to serve: perform ethically and responsibly. Know how to be: knowing yourself, your emotions and relate in a healthy way under any circumstance. Know to do: carry out knowledge in everyday life to achieve your dreams and goals. And safeguarding the native languages as they are necessary for the integration, education and preservation of cultural identity.

Long-Term Impact

Binni Bianni will deliver the content of the bag of knowledge in the emergency translated into 4 indigenous languages: Zapoteco, Chontal, Huave and Ayuuk, to 250 children from 8 of the most vulnerable communities affected by social inequalities and the current COVID 19 crisis in the State of Oaxaca.
