By Dr. Tahira Homayun | GSRF Director
We have worked very hard to educate the children and improve the health of the people in Moshwani Payan village in Kalakan Province. The lives of the Afghan people have changed since August 16th when the Taliban took over Kabul and the rest of the country.
As an update on our school project, let me say, that for the past a year and half, Afghans had suffered with Covid 19 because vaccine is not readily available for everybody. As a result, the schools, including the Aymini Elementary School, were closed in the last two months.
However, I am proud to report that the doors of the Moshwani Clinic are open and serving the community of Moshwani Payans village. The good news is, the Taliban announced they will respect all the health care professional and their work. The clinic is an important asset to the 9,000 villages in the Kalakan Province.
We will therefore continue our work for as long as we can and provide our situation report to GlobalGiving. We will certainly welcome additional financial support the GlobalGiving is able to extend to carry on with our mission.
Respectfully,
Dr Tahira Homayun,
President, Organization for the Advancement of Afghan Women
