Many of our volunteers serve without pay, covering their own transport costs, which limits their reach. Our current budget cannot support this growing need. With donor support, we can cover basic travel and meal stipends, allowing more volunteers to deliver health, education, and emergency support to people in hard-to-reach, rural and underserved communities.
Many people in rural areas across Africa lack regular access to basic health education, care, and emergency help. Our pool of over 600 trained volunteers is ready to serve, but most lack financial support for transport and food while in the field. Without stipends, many of them cannot reach those who need help the most. Our current operating budget cannot cover stipends or fuel costs needed for field visits.
This project will provide transport and meal stipends for over 600 volunteers, enabling them to serve people in hard-to-reach places. With the right support, volunteers can carry out field visits, deliver basic services, raise awareness on health and safety, and support emergency efforts. The funds will directly cover transport and basic upkeep to allow uninterrupted service in underserved areas.
With regular field visits supported by stipends, our volunteers will be able to reach thousands of people each month. The project will expand our community-based work, improve outreach to underserved areas, and allow trained local volunteers to remain active. Long-term, it will build a strong local support system and reduce the burden on overstretched rural clinics and agencies.
