Transport Costs Restrict Volunteer Field Work

By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

We sincerely thank the donors who have already supported the Motivate Volunteer Staff with Monthly Stipends project. Your generosity reflects recognition of the important work our volunteers carry out. However, the donations received so far are not sufficient to provide consistent stipends. Additional support is required to sustain field operations.

Across rural and underserved communities, many people lack access to regular health education, care, and emergency assistance. Our network includes over 600 trained volunteers who are willing and prepared to serve. Yet most of them cover their own transport and meal expenses when conducting field visits. For many, this financial burden limits how often they can travel or how far they can go.

Without stipends, some volunteers reduce their outreach activities or are unable to reach remote areas entirely. Fuel costs, transportation fares, and daily upkeep expenses make consistent service difficult. Our current operating budget does not allow us to provide structured financial support for these volunteers.

This project will provide monthly transport and meal stipends to enable volunteers to conduct field visits regularly. With this support, they can continue delivering health education, assisting with emergency responses, and reaching vulnerable populations in remote locations. The funds will be directed specifically toward travel and basic field expenses to maintain uninterrupted service.

Providing modest stipends can increase consistency and expand outreach coverage. When volunteers are supported, more communities can receive timely assistance and reliable engagement.

While we are grateful for the contributions received, further funding is needed to fully implement the stipend program. We kindly invite additional donors to help sustain volunteer outreach and extend services to communities that depend on this support.

Sincerely,

Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
