To provide financial Independence , Support and hope , Education to women living with HIV and their families to live positively positive
Sex work and sexual abuse of women and children as well as irresponsible behaviours brought HIV infections to an increase in the town from the early 1990s. Mvurwi has no factories and most farms operate at subsistence farming levels as a result, the unemployment level is high. Gender based violence and domestic violence are also prevalent especially during this lockdown time. MHAO seeks to empower women through income generating projects so that they are financially independent .
MHAO's main objective is to facilitate equity in services provision for people living with HIV, which includes income generating projects and sustainable livelihoods development. They also work to facilitate interpersonal communication within the community structures on HIV and AIDS issues and provide voluntary counselling services tailored to encourage positive attitude to those affected and infected with HIV and AIDS. Above all they equip the community with communication skills.
MHAO will continue to supply inputs for the communal gardens during the project period. This is done to ensure that the communal gardens are able to put aside a substantial amount of money to utilize to run the businesses after the project comes to an end. MHAO will continue to provide and technical and other support to ensure that the communal gardens thrive.
