Project Update Report: “60 Women from Rural Communities Want to Become Entrepreneurs”

As a continuation of the process initiated in the community of Santa Lucía, Ilobasco, where the Entrepreneurship School is being developed, the following update report is presented, detailing the progress of the project aimed at strengthening the technical, human, and entrepreneurial skills of rural women, using the OVOP (One Village, One Product) methodology.

Progress of the Training Process

During this phase, the Entrepreneurship School's training program was successfully completed, with 10 women finishing the three main components of the process: technical, human, and business.

  1. Technical Training: Participants consolidated their knowledge in the production of artisanal soaps and shampoos, applying improved techniques, process standardization, and good manufacturing practices. The products made use natural, locally sourced ingredients, such as aloe vera and rose petals, thus promoting sustainability and the use of local resources.
  2. Personal Development: Workshops were conducted to strengthen self-esteem, leadership, effective communication, and teamwork, contributing to the participants' holistic development and the strengthening of the social fabric in the community. This component helped consolidate a committed and supportive group with a collective vision for economic and personal growth.
  3. Business Management: In this phase, the women acquired knowledge in planning, administration, financial control, marketing, and brand development. As a result, the group created its own brand identity under the name "Lunavera," a brand that represents the effort, creativity, and commitment of the women entrepreneurs of Santa Lucía.

Participation and Visibility

The group of women entrepreneurs participated in the Clay Festival, marking their first experience of publicly exhibiting and selling their products.

The Lunavera brand has been very well received in the market, standing out for the quality, natural ingredients, and presentation of its products. This participation has allowed them to strengthen their business skills and build relationships with potential partners and clients.
