Going to the museum while staying at home ? It will soon be possible with the ARTZ association's home visits ! To break the isolation of nearly 2000 isolated elderly people with Alzheimer's in Ile-de-France, ARTZ will develop an online application containing a hundred works of art with commentary and accompanied by images, sounds and videos.
The scientific literature has shown that the reduction of activities and social relationships impacts not only mood and quality of life but also cognition and autonomy.
The project has been designed to meet the identified needs of the isolated seniors with Alzheimer's to establish personal relationships, to feel a sense of belonging to a group, to have opportunities for socialization, to express themselves, to carry out stimulating and meaningful activities that allow them to maintain a certain level of independence and quality of life despite the disease. In general, the goal is to prevent the loss of autonomy of people with mild to moderate disease.
The project will break the isolation of nearly 2000 isolated elderly people in Ile-de-France and provide them with cognitive stimulation as well as an opportunity for rich and entertaining exchanges with volunteers and family members.
This project has provided additional documentation in a PDF file (projdoc.pdf).
