Summary

To better assist developmentally delayed children, we provide the Early Intervention Program including counseling, day care, referrals and other resources for affected families. In addition to the basic therapeutic fields, we believe music therapy can also be applied to the treatment of developmentally delayed children. Your support will help developmentally delayed children in Taichung City Child Development Center receive music therapy as part of their early intervention program in Taiwan.

Challenge

Children with more abnormalities and resistances to therapy cannot communicate well and cause ineffective treatment. Parents appear stressed and overwhelmed when facing a myriad of problems and the stagnation in treatment. Transportation and other obstacles are associated with seeking early intervention especially for whom with lower levels of education and income. Children are unable to receive or fail to receive early intervention for their condition and may cause ineffective treatment.

Solution

Music therapy is a proven effective intervention and reveals significant developmental improvements for special children. We organize music activities incorporating therapeutic tools with music therapy, such as Soundbeam technology, on improving the development of special children. We give children free courses of music educational therapy and also provide them with the assistance of transportation timely in order to help ease the financial burden of families with disabilities.

Long-Term Impact

By providing quality music therapy to an average of 70 children per week in a year and building support to their families, we will engage autistic children at their level and interest and help them develop spontaneous self-expression, emotional communication and social interaction. Obviously, the effective early intervention can transform lives - helping parents back into work, stabilizing children at school and removing the barriers to have healthy and productive lives.
