Project Report | Apr 21, 2020
Keep us moving forward during COVID-19 outbreak!

By Wen Hung | Project Leader

I am happy in my class.
I am happy in my class.

Lily is a 3 years and 7 months old girl with mild cerebral palsy and stiff muscles. She is able to express individual words but has problems with balance and coordination. She joined our class in August 2018.

"When Lily joined us in 2018, I remember that she was unable to walk well and Cerebral Palsy affected her posture and balance due to the weakness of left limbs. She was unable to communicate with others clearly or copy any adult's words and sound at the beginning of class. Music therapy for Cerebral Palsy is a fun way to attract children to easily adapt to our class. I am happy to see that Lily is attracted by our class, and she loves to listen to music and wave her hands while dancing. Lily likes to play the Soundbeam and she is able to distinguish between different soundsets, such as the sound of rain. We also have the repeating stories and rhymes allowing children to memorize familiar words and phrases. Even it takes a longer time, Lily can walk without assistance and be able to tell the key words and demonstrate every move in the action songs now. It's so wonderful to see her progress and thank you for giving her the opportunities to change her life."

We are still open!

We are grateful to tell you that we keep our Child Development Center open currently and all of our children are in school as usual during the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide. We really don't want to see the class stop, so we do the best to prevent and beat the virus. We do take some extra measures to keep children safe, such as, temperatures taken and hands sanitized on the way inside. However, some of children are not used to putting on facemasks due to their special conditions. We will do more by following the instruction from our government. We will do our best to keep the project moving forward because of your support! I hope all of you are safe and health in your country, and it is really hard to face such a difficult situation in the world. I am willing to see your feedback and tell us how you are doing there. Let us pray to God, who alone makes us dwell in safety. I wish you, your family and friends, the very best of health.

With gratitude,

Wen Hung
