Ian is a 5 years and 2 months old boy with mild intellectual disability. He is unable to communicate orally and lacks of motivation for learning. The only way to express his needs is through simple gestures and meaningless sounds. He joined our class in August 2019.
“When Ian joined us last year, he didn’t like to participate in any physical activities and also could not concentrate on the subject in the class. Through the Music Therapy, we were telling stories with background sounds and music and repeating the words with a rhythmic movement activity. Most of children would enhance their oral language skills, body movements, and interpersonal interaction skills. Even it’s been 11 months since Ian joined the class, he has made significant progresses. He never liked to engage in dynamic activities and now he is willing to follow the guidance of teachers and peers to perform simple action simulations, and play walk-and-stop music games with his peers. When he is listening to the teacher in the story time, he will take the initiative to clap his hands with his smile and make an exciting voice. At the end of the course, he can also keep emotional stability. It is our fervent hope that all of our children enjoy our programs and develop their abilities and skills through the Music Therapy. Thank you for doing all with us for children in need.”

The second wave of COVID-19
For COVID-19 better prevention and control in our center, we have cancelled all group activities but have programs separately in individual classrooms. We know that the protection of children and educational facilities are particularly important. It’s great to see that most of children are fine and getting used to our changes in the class.
As we know that the COVID-19 is far from over. Some countries are still beating with large pandemics, and people are also facing a potential second wave of Covid-19 infections now in Taiwan. Our government announced several restrictions again in order to ensure the public health and safety. Therefore, we will continue our daily procedures to prevent and beat the virus. Thank you for your support during this difficult time in the world and hope all of us are safe from this crisis as soon as possible.
I wish you and your family the very best of health.
With gratitude,
Wen Hung
