Ren, who has a chromosome abnormality (trisomy 18), is 5 years old now and joined our class in August, 2015.
Ren has no difficulty in group activities, but she has low self-esteem. Her perceptual motor development was slightly delayed and scored worse on balance and the associated fingers movements. Her receptive language scores were higher than expression. It has been 14 months since Ren joined our class. We found that she has shown good progress in refining all her motor skills through music therapy. Both group activities and parent participation are very helpful to make her progress. At the beginning, she was unable to achieve a squatting or standing position. However, she has increased muscle strength and endurance. We are so excited to see her slow running. Now she may use phrases or a sentence to express ideas and joins our drum team!

So nice to hear from you on GlobalGiving!
"It is a helpful program for kids who in need."
"Very vivid and lively, let me feel the joy to a child's development."
"They need supports a little by little as they progress by little"
I really appreciate your time and everything you've written! It's always nice to hear a word of encouragement. All feedback messages are very important and encourage us to keep our work steady.
Since the project started in 2015, there have been more than 72 little angels participating in the classes 1~2 times per week. Our therapy team also learns a lot from children’s progress and continues to enhance the course content and explicitly increases activities of cognitive development relating to daily living and self-care. We always promote parents to get involved in our course and there are more than 12 parents participating regularly and they accompany children to learn and grow together.
Thank you for supporting TFCF Taichung City Child Development Center and giving a Music Magician to needy children with developmental delay in Taichung, Taiwan. I will continue to share every great moment with you through GlobalGiving reports while seeing our little angels fly free. Please invite your friends and families to spread the word about our project and encourage more people to take actions to participate in the cause as you do.
With gratitude,
Wen Hung
