Project Report | Feb 4, 2026
Project update and summary

By Channie Cheung | Member of Overseas Team

Imagine living in a region already scarred by decades of internal conflict and landmines. Now, picture the ground beneath you shattering in a massive 7.7 magnitude earthquake.

On 28 March 2025, this nightmare became a reality for thousands of families in Central Myanmar. Houses collapsed, water sources were contaminated, and many were left with nothing but the clothes on their backs. In the Sagaing Region, families are now sleeping outdoors, exposed to the elements.

Among them is a mother of three who told our local team, "We survived the conflict, but now we have no home and no clean water. My child has a fever, and I have nowhere to turn." For people in these hard-to-reach areas, international aid often feels like a distant hope. They are the "forgotten" victims—stuck in a delicate political landscape where large-scale relief struggles to penetrate.

Our Solution: Grassroots Action Where It’s Needed Most

Terra Renaissance doesn't just observe from the sidelines. We specialise in reaching the unreachable. Leveraging our 20 years of experience in peacebuilding and victim assistance across Asia and Africa, we have mobilised a rapid response in Myanmar. We are not working alone. We partner with local grassroots organisations and Buddhist monasteries—the heart of Myanmar’s communities—to identify families who have fallen through the cracks of official aid.

Our immediate response includes:

  • Water & Sanitation: Installing water pumps and tanks to reduce the spread of waterborne diseases.
  • Essential Supplies: Delivering "Life Kits," which include rice, cooking oil, mosquito nets, blankets, and waterproof tarps.
  • Urgent Medical Care: Facilitating treatment for survivors with untreated injuries, such as fractures sustained during the earthquake.

The Urgency: The Clock is Ticking

We are running out of time. The monsoon season is quickly approaching. Without secure, dry shelter and clean water supplies, the current displacement could lead to a secondary health crisis. We must act immediately to establish stability before the heavy rains arrive.

How Your Gift Makes a Difference

At Terra Renaissance, we believe in radical transparency. Every dollar is stretched to ensure maximum impact on the ground:

  • $15 can provide a Life Kit (rice, oil, and noodles) to sustain a family for two weeks.
  • $35 can provide Emergency Shelter Materials (tarps, mats, and blankets) for a displaced household.
  • $75 can fund Clean Water Access by repairing community water pumps.
  • $150 can provide critical medical assistance to a survivor with earthquake-related injuries.

About Terra Renaissance:
