Imagine living in a region already scarred by decades of internal conflict and landmines. Now, picture the ground beneath you shattering in a massive 7.7 magnitude earthquake.
On 28 March 2025, this nightmare became a reality for thousands of families in Central Myanmar. Houses collapsed, water sources were contaminated, and many were left with nothing but the clothes on their backs. In the Sagaing Region, families are now sleeping outdoors, exposed to the elements.
Among them is a mother of three who told our local team, "We survived the conflict, but now we have no home and no clean water. My child has a fever, and I have nowhere to turn." For people in these hard-to-reach areas, international aid often feels like a distant hope. They are the "forgotten" victims—stuck in a delicate political landscape where large-scale relief struggles to penetrate.
Our Solution: Grassroots Action Where It’s Needed Most
Terra Renaissance doesn't just observe from the sidelines. We specialise in reaching the unreachable. Leveraging our 20 years of experience in peacebuilding and victim assistance across Asia and Africa, we have mobilised a rapid response in Myanmar. We are not working alone. We partner with local grassroots organisations and Buddhist monasteries—the heart of Myanmar’s communities—to identify families who have fallen through the cracks of official aid.
