Dear supporter,
I am very happy to announce that our future partnership with an Australian organisation is strongly underway, with the possible launch in the next quarter. The Foundation for Young Australians (FYA) aims to create change with generations of young Australians. One of their initiatives is Young People Without Borders (YPWB) provides a structured journey into volunteering and global citizenship for young Australians aged 13 to 20. Young People Without Borders will transform a generation, embedding the notion of contribution and giving back to society into the DNA of all young Australians.
Through YPWB, we are looking at offering merit-based grants to participants from Australia, who have done exceptional charity work in their own communities, the opportunity to volunteer with a global organisation. This allows them not only to grow as individuals through life experience, work experience and training, but equip them with the confidence to work towards improving the situations of others within their own communities and in other communities.
Participants through YPWB start by signing up and getting involved in challenges in their own communities which earns them points, credits and rewards towards a volunteer placement with GVI in Asia/Pacific: Nepal, Laos, Thailand and Fiji. Our award would be granted towards those who have done exceptional work.
“You don’t have to be a do-gooder to do good, but you might just find that doing good is the best thing you ever did.” - YPWB
Thank you for your support as always. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments or ideas at info@gvi.org.
Kind regards
Sophie Birkett
