Dear supporter,
I am very happy to announce that our future partnership with the Foundation for Young Australians (FYA)is moving forward swiftly!
Through the FYA program Young People Without Borders (YPWB) we will be offering merit-based grants to disadvantaged participants from Australia who have done exceptional charity work in their own communities. We want to be able to offer these individuals the opportunity to volunteer with a global organisation. Our mission is to increase cultural understanding and awareness of global issues within our alumni and to equip our alumni with the knowledge and ability to further contribute towards key global and local issues. We believe that People have a valuable contribution to make as active citizens. Playing an important role in international development empowers individuals to tackle global issues on a local scale and fosters solidarity between people of different backgrounds, cultures and traditions.
FYA are currently working on the application process for participants to apply for the grant and we hope to have this up and running soon!
Thank you for your support as always. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments or ideas at info@gvi.org.
Kind regards
Sophie Birkett
