Success stories from our youth!

By Shayle Havemann | Project leader

Introduction

Report

We would like to celebrate youth by putting a spotlight on some of our exceptional youth who have received National Scholarships from Action Change to shepard change in their communities!

Brydie Akers- Australia NSP on Childcare project in Nepal: NSP Australia in partnership with Young People Without Boarders. From Queensland Australia

“Action Change and Young People Without Boarders gave me this opportunity to come to Nepal and I’ve been so grateful for all the help and support they’ve given me. I won a scholarship to volunteer back in December 2013 and since winning that they’ve always been so easy to talk to about any queries that I had.

Ana Ciriyawa Marine National Scholarship Program National Scholarship Programme

“The Action Change National Scholarship Programme provided me with the opportunity of a lifetime that will be embedded in my memory forever. I had no idea of the scholarship program but came to know of it later when I met Elizabeth at a Turtle Conservation Workshop and then Dr. Susanna Piovano offering me an opportunity to join volunteers on a tiny island somewhere in the Lomaiviti Group.

I received the message on the hilltop of Makogai Island trying to get phone reception and jumped of joy when I learnt that I was going to learn how to dive, survey, volunteer amongst other things with a group of volunteers from all over the globe. The excitement was overwhelming and I was quite fortunate to be the first local included in the programme.”
