Nepal Flood Relief Support

We are grateful to share this update from the field with our generous donors.

Following the devastating Bhotekoshi–Trishuli flood, your support enabled Janaki Women Awareness Society (JWAS Nepal) to provide essential household relief items to 300 flood-affected and bereaved households in Bidur Municipality, Nuwakot district, Nepal. 

With the coordination of the municipality and local stakeholders, relief reached families at four locations:

• Ward 1 – Jatati Welfare Ashram/Mother’s Home Shelter: 100 households
• Ward 5 – Chandra Jyoti Secondary School Temporary Holding Shelter: 100 households
• Ward 5 – Families who lost loved ones and other affected households: 50 households
• Ward 10 – Gerutar Temporary Holding Shelter: 50 households

The relief packages included essential cooking and household items, helping families meet their immediate daily needs during an incredibly difficult time.

Behind every package is a family, a home, and a story of loss and resilience. Your generosity helped bring practical relief—and a message of solidarity—to people facing one of the hardest moments of their lives.

JWAS sincerely thanks GlobalGiving and every donor whose compassion made this response possible, as well as Bidur Municipality, ward representatives, shelter management teams, and local stakeholders for helping ensure that assistance reached those who needed it most.
