Makoko Nets & Malaria Care Project

By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

Thank you for your generous support toward our project, 3000 Nets & Malaria Drugs for Makoko Slum in Lagos. Your contribution shows a strong commitment to improving health and preventing avoidable deaths in one of the most vulnerable communities in Lagos.

I am writing to update you on the project’s status. Although we have begun receiving donations, the current amount is not yet enough to start purchasing the 3,000 long-lasting insecticide-treated nets or the malaria drugs required for full implementation. To ensure effective distribution and avoid leaving households partially covered, we need to reach the minimum funding level that will allow us to procure supplies in bulk and secure fair pricing.

In the meantime, our team has been preparing for implementation by identifying priority households, updating vendor quotations, and mapping distribution points within Makoko. We have also been working with local community leaders to ensure smooth access when supplies arrive. These steps will allow us to move quickly once adequate funding is reached.

Your early support is deeply appreciated. Malaria continues to take lives every day in communities like Makoko, where families lack both protection and access to treatment. This project remains critical, and your contribution brings us closer to placing lifesaving nets and medicines in the hands of those who need them most.

We will continue to share updates as progress is made. Thank you for standing with us and helping protect vulnerable children, pregnant women, and older adults from malaria.

Sincerely,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic K.
