Dear Donors,
We sincerely thank the donors who have supported the 3000 Nets & Malaria Drugs for Makoko Slum in Lagos project. Your generosity shows care for families living in conditions where malaria remains a daily threat. We truly appreciate the support received so far, however, the amount available at this time is still below what is required to begin distribution.
Makoko is one of the most densely populated communities in Lagos, with many homes built over water and little protection from mosquitoes. Families often sleep without nets, and access to treatment is limited. This makes children, pregnant women, and older adults highly vulnerable to malaria.
In such conditions, infections spread quickly, especially during the rainy season when mosquito breeding increases. Many families cannot afford preventive tools or proper medication, leaving them exposed to repeated illness.
This project is designed to provide 3,000 mosquito nets and malaria treatment to households in Makoko. Medical teams will carry out testing, distribute nets and drugs, and guide families on how to use them effectively. Follow-up visits will help ensure the supplies are properly used.
With these tools in place, families can better protect themselves, reduce infections, and avoid frequent illness that affects work, school, and daily life.
We are grateful for the kindness already shown toward this effort. With more support, it will be possible to move forward and begin reaching families who urgently need protection.
Sincerely,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
